We Were Here Tomorrow Beginner Guide: Walkie-Talkies, Asymmetric Puzzles and the Story
We Were Here Tomorrow is a 2-player online co-op puzzle game where you and a partner are separated inside the Norček Industries facility beneath the Antarctic ice. You see different things, you talk on a walkie-talkie, and every puzzle is solved by combining what the two of you know.
The Story: Trapped Beneath the Ice
You play two Explorers on an expedition to save their companions, a rescue trip undone by a stroke of bad timing that leaves you both trapped beneath the Antarctic ice. When you wake up, you are inside a facility run by Norček Industries — and the world is not the way you remember it.
The facility belongs to the charismatic Director Kathleen Bowe, whose team mysteriously vanished on the eve of a major breakthrough, leaving their work unfinished. With a global crisis looming, it falls to the two of you to continue what they started. And the deeper you go, the more questions multiply: what is Norček doing, why were you brought here, and what happened to the people before you?
How the Co-op Actually Works
The design principle is asymmetry: no two Explorers experience the facility the same way. You and your partner are usually in different places, seeing different things, and the game deliberately makes your information incomplete without each other.
Your bridge is the walkie-talkie. Describe what you see, share what you discover, and combine both perspectives to work out each puzzle together. That is the entire skill set — and why a microphone is a listed minimum requirement, not an accessory. Note also that this is strictly a two-player online co-op game: there is no single-player mode to learn on, your first minute is the real thing.
Rules for Your First Hours
Get Ready Before Launch Day
Play the free demo with your partner while the limited Steam window lasts — the cheapest possible rehearsal of the communication loop, and since the full game is free, the only thing you are testing is whether the two of you work as a team.
Then check the official minimum requirements: Windows 11, a Ryzen 5 3600, 8 GB of RAM, a GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB, DirectX 12 and 50 GB of storage — clear the disk space now. And sort out microphones for both players, because on October 20, 2026 the game starts with your first conversation.
FAQ
What is We Were Here Tomorrow about?
Two Explorers on a rescue expedition are trapped beneath the Antarctic ice and wake up in a Norček Industries facility run by the vanished Director Kathleen Bowe's team — separated, they must talk over a walkie-talkie to solve puzzles and continue the unfinished work.
Can you play We Were Here Tomorrow solo?
No. It is a 2-player online co-op game only — Steam lists Multi-player, Co-op and Online Co-op with no single-player category, and the puzzles require a partner's perspective.
Do you need a microphone?
Yes. A working PC-compatible microphone is part of the official minimum requirements, because describing what you see over the walkie-talkie is how the game is played.
Is We Were Here Tomorrow beginner friendly?
The mechanics are simple — walk, look, talk — so the learning curve is communication, not controls. The free Steam demo is the easiest way to practice the loop with your partner before the October 20, 2026 launch.
